LIBRARY

The NMV Library (for NMV members only) is a wonderful way to discover Asia and Thailand and is full of hidden treasures.

 

The NMV Library is a specialized library emphasizing the arts, religions and history of Asia. The collection contains 4000 books and periodicals in English, French, German and Japanese.

Books

Books are shelved by subjects for a better visibility, classification follows the numeral Dewey system.

  • Iconography of gods

  • Arts (general, Asian Arts, Arts sorted by countries: China, Thailand)
    Arts is the biggest section.

  • Culture and society (sorted bu country)

  • History (sorted bu country)

  • Japanese books

  • German books

  • Chinese books

  • Aseanie (articles both in French and English)

  • Orientations

  • Arts of Asia

  • MARG (specialized in Indian arts)

CD-ROM:

Some files are directly collected on CD.

NMV Digital collection:

Access to the Digital Collection is granted on request only.

Availability & Other Services

 

The Library is located at the rear of the Museum grounds behind the main (Palace) building.

 

Operating Hours:

The library is open every Wednesday from 09.30am to 11.30am only. Mail to nmvlibrary@gmail.com for information.
Closed during Thai holidays

Please note that photocopying or scanning of library books is no longer offered. Members may take photos from our books on their personal IT devices.
